Ecole Communautaire St. Philippe & St. Jacques
On a small island in the middle of Lake Pèligre, the mode of transportation for most students and teachers is carved canoes. Materials and supplies take the long journey over the mountains and across the water to reach this school in the company of honey, rice and tobacco farmers. Palm trees arch above the small wooden school and there is a dream to make a soccer field out of the remaining land so that students and the community may gather to play during recess and weekends.

Our mission at Summits is nothing less than changing the trajectory of a generation of Haitians to aim for a better life, a more sustainable community, and a vibrant and productive country. To achieve this goal, we are committed to providing the very best education to our students, by training their teachers, building their schools and supporting them as they reach far beyond the mountains of the Central Plateau to realize their most ambitious dreams.
