Ecole Communautaire St. Marc
Children of Cabestor once made a four-hour trek to the small town of Lascahobas in the Central Plateau to attend school. Now, students who would otherwise be out of reach can seek an education at their own community school built by our partners, Digicel. Even when sugarcane and millet suffered from a season of disease, the community banned together and fished in the nearby Lake Pèligre to sell in the market so that the students could afford materials and uniforms for the school year. With incredible kindness, community members will welcome you with a cup of coffee and a fresh coconut.
