Ecole Communautaire Annonciation
Visited by Bill Clinton in 2014, Dormond is one of the original 13 schools incorporated in the Summits network. It was the first school in our network to have a full-functioning library for students and members of the surrounding community. It is also part of a nutrition program sponsored by KORE that provides each student with an egg every day. It can take up to two hours for children to walk to school up a dirt road that is named for Summits co-founder, Marie-Flore Chipps.
Access from Mirebalais: 30 mns or less by car, no walking

AN INVESTMENT OF $25,000 SERVES 193 STUDENTS FOR ONE YEAR
When you sponsor a Summits school you are investing in the promise of a bright future for the children of Haiti. Our mission at Summits is nothing less than changing the trajectory of a generation of Haitians to aim for a better life, a more sustainable community, and a vibrant and productive country. To achieve this goal, we are committed to providing the very best education to our students, by training their teachers, building their schools and supporting them as they reach far beyond the mountains of the Central Plateau to realize their most ambitious dreams. When you sponsor a Summits school you are helping to make dreams come true.
